Jim Konides, Founder & President
Jim's early experience included work as a CPA, business consultant, and attorney in Florida. In the early 1990's Jim was hired as President of Tri-O-Clean Laundry Systems, the company that first introduced ozone laundry. After a change in management and company relocation to CA, in the mid 1990's, Jim started his own ozone laundry company, IndustrOzone Technologies, LLC. IndustrOzone made significant progress and was a key innovator in the industry. Most significantly, IndustrOzone did research in conjunction with Ecolab, the industry's dominant chemical supplier, which led to Ecolab's development of chemical products specifically for use with ozone in commercial laundry. The market impact of 9/11 (especially on hotels) along with some major quality control failures by IndustrOzone's primary vendor ultimately made it impractical for IndustrOzone to continue as a national producer of ozone laundry equipment. Jim's partner in Progressive Laundry, Mark Moore, founded ArtiClean and began manufacturing ozone laundry systems. Jim transferred his focus to his company PolarWash which sells Articlean ozone laundry systems in the mid-Atlantic region. In 2006, Jim worked on a research project with Cotton, Inc. in Raleigh, NC that led to the development of the BluOx technology and patent application on which Progressive Laundry is based.
Mark Moore, Co-Founder
After college, Mark went to work for his father in 1982 at REM Company which was the first dealer of Unimac commercial washing machines. (Unimac is the top brand for small to medium size commercial washers.) Mark met Jim in the mid-1990's and REM Company was one of the first dealers to work with ozone laundry equipment. Mark was an advisor to IndustrOzone and played a key part in developing and applying ozone laundry technology. When the decision was made to shut down IndustrOzone in 2005, Mark founded ArtiClean and has served as its CEO ever since. ArtiClean makes a full line of ozone laundry systems and has hundreds of successful installations in the hotel and healthcare fields. Mark is one of the most respected people in the commercial laundry and ozone laundry equipment industries.
